The Kazakh low-cost carrier FlyArystan operated today its inaugural flight FS7879 on the Almaty – Samarkand route, resuming direct air service between the two cities.

Flights will be operated as part of the Spring and Autumn 2026 schedule – from March 17 to May 30 and from September 1 to October 24 – twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The flight duration is under two hours, and the convenient daytime departure schedule allows passengers to plan their trips comfortably.

At Samarkand International Airport, a symbolic ceremony was held to mark the opening of the new flight. A certificate for an airline ticket was prepared for the first passenger to check in. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting also took place, attended by representatives of the Samarkand city hokimiyat, the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Samarkand, and the airport management. Upon arrival from Almaty, the FlyArystan plane was greeted with a traditional water arch, after which a formal reception for passengers and crew took place in the airport terminal, attended by airport representatives, young plane spotters, and other guests of the event.

Samarkand is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, renowned for its architectural landmarks and rich historical heritage. Among its main attractions are Registan Square with its majestic madrasahs, the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, and the Shah-i-Zinda architectural complex. The city is also famous for its national cuisine, vibrant eastern bazaars, and the unique atmosphere of an ancient city.

Tickets are available via the FlyArystan mobile app, on the official website www.flyarystan.com, and through other sales channels. The standard fare includes a randomly assigned seat on board and one piece of carry-on baggage weighing up to 7 kg (with dimensions not exceeding 56 × 23 × 36 cm).
