FlyArystan continues expanding its route network in Central Asia with direct flights from Almaty to Urgench

Press releases
Kazakhstan’s low-cost carrier FlyArystan announces the launch of a seasonal international route Almaty – Urgench – Almaty. The new route will expand the airline’s network in Uzbekistan and become part of the ongoing development of air connectivity between Central Asian cities, providing passengers with convenient access to one of the region’s key historical and cultural destinations.

Flights will operate twice a week starting from September 3 – on Thursdays and Sundays – with a convenient schedule for passengers.

One-way fares start from 41 000 KZT*.

Johan Eidhagen, President and CEO of FlyArystan JSC:

“When selecting new international destinations, we focus on cities with strong transport and tourism potential, including promising regional hubs. Urgench is an important transportation gateway in northwestern Uzbekistan, providing convenient access to cities such as Khiva and Nukus. The launch of this route reflects our commitment to steadily expanding connectivity across regional destinations across Central Asia and creating additional opportunities for passenger traffic growth between major cities and key regional hubs”.

The new route will be operated under a codeshare agreement** with the parent company, Air Astana, offering passengers convenient connecting flights via Almaty with access to Air Astana destinations across China and South Korea.

Urgench is the administrative center of the Khorezm region and serves as a gateway to the ancient city of Khiva – one of the region’s most renowned historical destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located 160 km from Urgench, Nukus – the capital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan – is home to a significant Kazakh diaspora, making the new route especially relevant for family, tourism, and cultural travel between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

In addition to the new Urgench route, FlyArystan also operates flights on the Almaty – Samarkand and Astana – Tashkent routes, contributing to the development of air connectivity and strengthening transport links between Central Asian countries.

Tickets are already available on the official FlyArystan website, via the FlyArystan mobile app, and through other sales channels. FlyArystan operates under the low-cost carrier model, allowing passengers to choose additional services based on their individual needs. The base fare includes one piece of hand baggage weighing up to 7 kg and measuring no more than 56×23×36 cm.
