Kazakhstan’s low-cost carrier FlyArystan announces a change to its free hand baggage allowance. Starting from 1 March 2026, passengers will be allowed to carry hand baggage weighing up to 7 kg instead of the previously permitted 5 kg. The hand baggage dimensions remain unchanged at 56×23×36 cm.
The decision was made following a comprehensive market business analysis, including an assessment of passenger demand patterns, operational processes, and airline industry practices.
The new rules will take effect on 1 March 2026 and will apply to all air tickets issued for flights operated from that date, regardless of the ticket purchase date. Flights operated up to and including 28 February 2026 will continue to be serviced under the previous requirements, with a hand baggage allowance of up to 5 kg per passenger.
At the same time, the airline maintains the one-piece concept: passengers are permitted to carry one item of hand baggage, which must comply with the established weight and size requirements. According to the airline’s statistics for 2024-2025, approximately three out of four FlyArystan passengers traveled using only minimal hand baggage.
The air company emphasizes that the core principles of the low-cost model remain unchanged: passengers continue to choose additional services independently, thereby shaping the cost of their journey based on their individual needs.
