FlyArystan today operated its inaugural flight on the Almaty – Chongqing route, launching direct air connectivity between the two cities and expanding travel opportunities between Kazakhstan and southwestern China.
The launch of the new route marks another step in the expansion of FlyArystan’s international network. Chongqing has become the airline’s fourth destination in China, joining its existing routes to Urumqi, Yining and Xi’an.
The launch of the new route was marked by a ceremony at Almaty International Airport. The event was attended by FlyArystan President Johan Eidhagen, representatives of the airline, Almaty International Airport and Almaty Tourism Bureau, as well as journalists and bloggers. A special programme was also organised for passengers on the inaugural flight, with a cake-cutting ceremony marking the opening of the new route.

In recent years, we have consistently expanded our route network, connecting Kazakhstan with key cities in China, including Urumqi, Xi’an and Yining. Today, we are pleased to add Chongqing to this growing network and provide our passengers with another convenient option for direct travel between Kazakhstan and China.”
Flights on the Almaty – Chongqing route will operate twice a week. Flights from Almaty will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 20:55, arriving in Chongqing at 04:55 the following day. Return flights from Chongqing will operate on Thursdays and Sundays at 05:55, arriving in Almaty at 08:25.
Fares under the Standard fare start from KZT 92,000 one way*. Tickets are already available for booking on the official FlyArystan website, via the FlyArystan mobile app and through other sales channels.
